We are delighted to confirm that the next twinning visit by our good friends from Voiron will be Thursday 27th April to Monday 1st May 2017.
Details have been circulated but here’s an outline of the planned activities.
A number of visitors are arriving earlier or leaving later, by arrangement; this is the core programme.
Thursday 27th April Birmingham airport 5-5.30 pm Arrival & collection of visitors.
6:30 – 7.30 pm All are invited to a short reception with drinks and nibbles at the Cricket Pavilion, St Peter’s Church Lane.
Dinner with hosts.
Friday 28th April Full-day trip to the Black Country Living Museum: a 63-seater coach has been booked, but thanks to a couple of volunteer drivers, we can cater for up to around 70 people. If people wish to take the canal trip whilst there, this should be booked individually. Coach departs from the Sacred Heart at 10.00 am and leaves BCLM at 4 pm.
Saturday 29th April A day free with your visitors – they could enjoy the first day of St Richard’s Canal Festival in Droitwich! In the evening we shall have a simple supper at Elmbridge Village Hall (please bring your own cutlery, plates, glasses, drinks) and introduce our French visitors to the esoteric delights of an English Beetle drive and other such amusements! Anyone know what “two fat ladies” or “legs 11″is in French?
Sunday 30th April 7.15 for 7.30 pm. A 3-course carvery dinner at Holt Fleet, with a choice of starters and puddings. We expect a minimum of 50 people for this, and will have the benefit of the dining room with the terrace at Holt Fleet, so it should be very pleasant.
Monday 1st May Most visitors return to Voiron, end of the official twinning weekend.
